I miss the days of old school video rental. This current generation will never understand the thrill or disappointment of finding (or not) the latest movie release behind the box in the video store. There are still two Blockbuster video locations surviving in Missouri - sort of.
Did you know that many of the iconic scenes from a classic 1980's movie were all filmed in a real Illinois place? What used to be the high school detention center for The Breakfast Club is now a real detention center for the Illinois State Police.
It appears that there is a Missouri town that is now famous for two different things. First, it's just been rated as one of the worst towns to live in Missouri. Oh, and it apparently was founded by one of the ancestors of Hollywood icon Brad Pitt.
I find it a bit ironic (and sad) that few states in America have more people that live alone than Illinois. So many people, yet so many that live by themselves and that's a cause for concern.
There's nothing quite like having someone you love that loves you back in a long-term relationship. In some states, after 7 years together, you are common law marriage. What about Missouri? Is there common law marriage in the Show Me State? The answer is both yes and no. It's complicated.
