Blockbuster Video Alive and Well in 2 Missouri Places – Sort Of

I miss the days of old school video rental. This current generation will never understand the thrill or disappointment of finding (or not) the latest movie release behind the box in the video store. There are still two Blockbuster video locations surviving in Missouri - sort of.

There is an organization that has a good heart called Free Blockbuster. They're carrying on the tradition of video rental for the price of free. It's blue Blockbuster boxes that have free movies in them. Take one. Watch it. Return it. No cost. Here's what they look like.

According to Free Blockbuster, there are at least 2 boxes in Missouri. One is located outside Country Joe's near St. James, Missouri.

The other one in Missouri is in the Kansas City area in this building.

Their franchise location map keeps up with new Free Blockbuster boxes and you can even start one yourself if you have the motivation.

Will video rental places like Blockbuster make a comeback in Missouri? Doubt it. But, that doesn't mean individuals can't keep the spirit of classic video rental alive.
