I love off-the-beaten path places and Missouri has tons of them. There's one that is arguably the most beautiful hidden place of them all, but there's something important you should know. It's also full of venomous snakes.

There's a new YouTube short that explains where this special Missouri place is. It is way out in the boonies of the Ozarks, but boy is it pretty.

This is Rocky Falls Shut-ins near Winona Township in Missouri that everyone on Trip Advisor raves about. But, as one hiker shared video of, it's full of venomous copperhead snakes like this little guy.

How many venomous snakes are near Rocky Falls Shut-ins?

While I haven't done a hand count, suffice it to say "LOTS". I can hear my snake-loving friends now saying "venomous snakes won't bite you if you leave them alone". That's probably true, but the issue is there are so many smaller, younger copperheads like the one in the picture, you can accidentally reach places or walk places where you'll unintentionally provoke them.

There's another problem. Rocky Falls Shut-Ins is so off the beaten path that if you get bitten, you'll need to find a way to get doctor care somewhat quickly. Not trying to be a party pooper, but if you do seek adventure in this beautiful Missouri place, beware. There's dangerous nature there, too.
