In honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Quincy Art Center and Cell Tech are sponsoring a "Pink Pumpkin Party" this Thursday.  The event is open to the public and those attending are asked to bring your own pumpkin to decorate it in pink. The party will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Art Center at 1515 Jersey in Quincy. The paint and materials will be provide on a first come basis.There will be four different colors available to use in painting your pumpkin. The colors are black, representing cancer, white, representing purity, pink, representing awareness and silver, which will represent hope.

Once your pumpkin is painted, you are welcomed to take it home, but many elect to give it to a friend to remind them to get checked or place it in a high profile area in offices to bring more awareness to the cause.
