As the school year comes to a close, parents are looking for ways to keep their kids entertain this summer. I know I am; the Quincy Art Center is offering summer classes for all ages.

There are a variety of classes from pre-school to adults and everything in between, but you must register. Some classes will be in-person and other on zoom, so you will have the option to take whatever class you feel comfortable with. If you're going to be taking in-person classes you must follow Health Department and Restore Illinois Guidelines. Masks or face shields must be worn at all times.

Classes include jewelry making, creative comic, tie-dye tapestry design, sculpting with mixed media, and so much more. You must sign up and all registration for all classes is open now.  These classes are a great opportunity to keep your kiddos busy and support a local organization, and with several different classes there has to be at least one that your kiddo will enjoy. I am going to sit down with my girls and find out what classes they want to take to keep them not only busy, but their mind sharp while off from school.

If you need help with the registration process or have any addition questions about the classes, just call the Quincy Art Center Monday – Saturday 9 am – 4 pm or contact Director of Education, Elizabeth Swick.

LOOK: Stunning animal photos from around the world

From grazing Tibetan antelope to migrating monarch butterflies, these 50 photos of wildlife around the world capture the staggering grace of the animal kingdom. The forthcoming gallery runs sequentially from air to land to water, and focuses on birds, land mammals, aquatic life, and insects as they work in pairs or groups, or sometimes all on their own.
