If you didn't get to Great River Eagle Days in Quincy last weekend, or you did and you didn't reach your limit of "oohing and aahing" at America's national bird, you have another chance this weekend.

The Raintree Arts Council plays host to eagle watchers this Friday and Saturday as Clarksville, Missouri stages its Eagle Days celebration.

In a Talk Back conversation on KHMO, event organizer Linda Blakey told us that one good thing about the bitter cold January weather is that it makes for perfect conditions for bald eagles to gather around the moving water at Lock and Dam 24.

The Clarksville Apple Shed will serve as the headquarters for the eagle activities for the weekend.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from 11 to 3 Sunday, you can enjoy live eagle programs by Dickerson Park Zoo, displays of wildlife and nature-related art work and photography, food and vendors,

Meanwhile, at Lock and Day 24, staff from the Army Corps of Engineers will be on hand with spotting scopes in Riverfront Park for anyone who wants to get a closer look at the eagles. Feel free to bring your binoculars.

And, while you're in Clarksville, take a moment to walk or drive around and enjoy one of the most picturesque towns on the Mississippi.
