
5 New Laws That You Need To Be Aware That Start in 2019
A new year is upon us soon, and with that new laws. There are over 200 new laws that start January 1, 2019 in the state of Illinois, here are a few that will affect you.

Rear-Facing Car Seats
As of January 1, 2019 all children under the age of two must be seating in the car rear-faced. Children weighing more than 40 pounds or taller than 40 inches are exempted.

Hunters Can Wear Pink
Hunters will now be able to wear pink during firearm deer season. This is in addition to orange, which is still legal to wear.

High School Students Dual Credit
High School students can now enroll in as many dual credit classes as they want to. Plus, under this new law, community colleges (as long as the college is within the boundaries of the high school) can offer dual credit classes.

New Mom's Exempt From Jury Duty
If you are a new mom and a mom that is nursing, you now will be exempt from serving on a jury duty.

School Safety Drills
Schools will now have to conduct drills which include active shooter or other school threat safety drills within 90 days of the new school year. Students will be apart of these drills, as well as local law enforcement.
