Dougie Brawley is a 14-year-old Hannibal boy who was born blind yet is one of the happiest kids you'll ever meet. Blane Mundle and other members of the Random Acts of Continuing Kindness Facebook group have rallied together to help Dougie realize his dream of throwing out the first pitch at the St. Louis Cardinals game on July 1, 2023.

Blane explained what's so special about Dougie:

Dougie is blind with special needs but is one of the happiest people and most inspirational young man that I have ever met. He is the definition of kindness.

It takes a tremendous amount of funds for a dream like this to be realized and that's why members of the Random Acts of Continuing Kindness Facebook group are having a fundraiser on Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 5p to 9p at the American Legion Post 55 on MM in Hannibal.

The event page on Facebook adds more details about what will happen Saturday:

We will have a dinner consisting of all ballpark food! Hotdogs, brats, popcorn, cotton candy, nachos, popcorn, peanuts…. We will have a silent auction consisting of many local gift certificates, St. Louis Cardinals tickets, and an enormous collection of memorabilia!!

On July 1, the St. Louis Cardinals will be playing the New York Yankees. Imagine Dougie Brawley from Hannibal, Missouri standing on the mound in front of Aaron Judge and his favorite players from the Cardinals like Brendan Donovan. It's gonna be a special day and you can help make it possible.

This is Dougie meeting Brendan Donovan at the St. Louis Cardinals Caravan in Hannibal this winter.
