Bowzer's Towboat Channel captured this video a few days ago near the Jones-Confluence Point State Park. That's the place where the Mississippi River and the Missouri River meet.

Pay special attention to the mud that the towboat churns up trying to navigate these waters. If you weren't convinced the drought was causing dire problems on these rivers, you will after watching this.

These levels appear to be down even from what we shared a few weeks ago with more drone video showing different parts of the Mississippi.

If there's a silver lining, it appears the drought conditions are improving slightly according to the US Drought Monitor.

You can see based on their map that the Missouri River region is in a worst state than the Mississippi River near St. Louis for now. Let's hope there is ample precipitation over the next few months moving into the Spring of 2023 to help provide relief for a region that needs moisture in the worst way.
