Just when you thought the gang problem in Illinois couldn't get any worse, it does and it has. There's concrete proof that a gang that has created havoc in Venezuela is now active and on the streets of Illinois.

I saw a report on Yahoo News about a gang I have heard nothing about - until now. They are called Tren de Aragua. It's a mega-gang that has now extended its reach to America and that now includes Illinois.

I saw this chilling bulletin from the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement that was just issued on March 24, 2024 about their arrest of "Adelvis Rodriguez-Carmona, an unlawfully present citizen of Venezuela and member of the Tren de Aragua transnational criminal organization".

NBC Chicago reports that Adelvis Rodriguez-Carmona was not the only member of Tren de Aragua who had taken up residence in the Windy City. They've been here awhile also. The report says that Cook County law enforcement has traced the presence of this Venezuelan gang since at least October of last year.

Many reports about this gang say they are known for having no fear of police and allegedly will actively attack them unlike some other gangs that seem to do their dirty work away from law enforcement's eyes.

Newsnation mentioned several members were just caught entering the US illegally so the numbers of this group in America are obviously increasing. Chicago seems to be one of their cities where they're trying to establish a foothold if they haven't already.

It's yet another threat on Illinois streets that everyone needs to be aware of.
