I'm laughing because I'm fairly certain this was not intentional. The internet just declared that a certain mansion is "the grandest in Missouri". Well, that may be true, but it also might be the most haunted as many claim they have seen a "lady in white" presiding over the estate.

So I'll give 24/7 Wall St the benefit of the doubt that they just didn't know the paranormal history of the Vaile Mansion in Independence, Missouri. They named it the "grandest historic mansion in Missouri". That's true if you're talking about ghosts.

Within the walls of the Vaile Mansion are 31 rooms which Visit Independence says have housed a "criminal trial, suspected suicide, and a sanatorium". Does this look grand to you in a spooky kind of way?

This used to be the home of Colonel Harvey Merrick Vaile and his wife, Sophia. But, it didn't take long before their life took a tragic turn. Wikipedia says "Sophia, who had been diagnosed with stomach cancer, was found dead at home from a morphine overdose, in what was a case of suspected suicide." It is now believed that she never really left as a lady in white specter has been seen on the premises.

The Vaile Mansion is now undergoing a vast renovation project according to the official website. The internet isn't wrong that this is one of if not the grandest mansions in Missouri, but it's probably not for the ghostly reason that really lies at the heart of this place.
