Ten Hurt, Five Seriously, in Area Traffic Crashes
Two are hurt, one seriously, in a single vehicle crash on Marion County Route MM west of Hannibal at 11:10 a.m. Monday.
The Highway Patrol reports 21 year old Kearston Gillum of Hannibal was eastbound when her pickup ran off the road and overturned, ejecting Gillum and her passenger, 26 year old Jared Newton, also of Hannibal, from the vehicle.
Newton was taken to Hannibal Regional with moderate injuries. Gillum was taken first to Hannibal Regional, then flown to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.
A Center man suffers serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 61 near Route MM about 6:20 p.m. Monday.
Hannibal Police report a 65 year old Center man was southbound on 61 on his motorcycle when he was apparently struck by another vehicle, causing the bike to crash.
The man was taken first to Hannibal Regional, then flown to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.
A Dallas City man is one of six people hurt in a two vehicle crash north of Lomax in Henderson County, Illinois just before 2 p.m. Saturday.
The Illinois State Police reports 69 year old Bradley Shaw of Dallas City was southbound when his pickup was struck by a northbound car, driven by a Burlington, Iowa woman, who failed to yield turning left.
Shaw and his passenger suffered minor injuries. The driver and three passengers in the other car were all treated for serious injuries.
The Burlington woman driving the other car was ticketed for failure to yield.
