Special Olympics

Who doesn't like a free lunch? Local law enforcement officers will soon be serving as waiters and waitresses all in the name of the Special Olympics.

The Quincy Police Department will be trying to raise funds for Special Olympics tomorrow morning and afternoon. The QPD will be set up at two different locations, 24th and Harrison and 18th and State, this Friday, July 19 for the Spare Change for Real Change Special Olympics fundraiser.

People ask me from time to time why I have stayed in the Quincy community all of these years?  It’s simple. I like it here. Oh there are times when I am ready to pack it up and head to my favorite beach in Florida, but things like what took place in Quincy Friday make me wonder if there is any better place than right here. What happened Friday?
