It has become an annual Christmas tradition: on the final Late Show of the year, Jay Thomas visits David Letterman to tell the story of how he drove Clayton Moore (The Lone Ranger).
Here we are, 13 years removed from the terrorist attacks on America on September 11, 2001. For me it still seems pretty fresh in the memory banks. This time of year always brings it all back, and the fact that I went to New York City and visited the 9/11 site this summer obviously makes it all the more real for me.
I grew up in Brooklyn, New York so watching what is happening there as a result of Hurricane Sandy has more of an effect on me that most mid-westerners. To watch the Battery Tunnel and Battery Park fill up with water, to see some 90 homes in Queens go up in a huge blaze, to see the subways fill up and to see a total shutdown of the City of New York is beyond belief.
