A Illinois native is the first headliner announced for the 2018 Illinois State fair.

We wait for it all summer long, local and state fairs. the Illinois State fair just announced their lineup for their 2017 Grandstand.

Those of you looking forward to seeing Gregg Allman at the Illinois State Fair are a bit out of luck. He has cancelled his upcoming co-headlining performance with ZZ Top due to “serious health issues that require doctor’s care” according to a release from the Illinois State Fair.

The Illinois State Fair recently announced the creation of a statewide karaoke contest that will culminate with the winner getting to sing two songs as a warm-up to the Little Big Town concert at State Fair Grandstand on August 20 as well as another show at the DuQuoin State Fair.

Singer/Songwriter Meghan Trainor is bringing her nationwide “Untouchable” tour to the Illinois State Fair on August 13 with special guest Hailee Steinfeld. Trainor hit the scene in 2014 with her breakout single “All About That Bass” which reached the top spot in 58 countries including eight weeks at #1 in the United States...

The 2015 grandstand lineup for the Illinois State Fair has added three new acts with the addition of The Fray, Styx and Tesla. Meat Loaf was scheduled but has since back out. This year's Illinois State Fair in Springfield, Illinois will be held August 13 through 23 and will feature the following grandstand concerts.

The Adams County Fair is expanding.  A ribbon cutting for a new horse barn is being planed for Monday, July 6 at 9:30 a.m. north of Quincy on route 336.

Attendance at the Illinois and Iowa State Fairs showed declines from the previous year. The main culprit for the decline was rainy weather in the Midwest, which affected several days of the fairs in Springfield and Des Moines.

The county fairs are over, and it is full steam ahead for the State Fairs in Illinois, Iowa and Missouri.  All three State fairs will run concurrently from August 7 through the 17.
