Attendance at the Illinois and Iowa State Fairs showed declines from the previous year. The main culprit for the decline was rainy weather in the Midwest, which affected several days of the fairs in Springfield and Des Moines.

Despite lower numbers, Illinois Fair Director Amy Bliefnick, according to a report on WSIL-TV, was happy with the attendance figures basically because it rained on eight of the 11 days of the fair. Here are the attendance numbers for all three state fairs....

ILLINOIS.....773, 000  down from 854,000 last year

IOWA.........1,015,092 down 32, 136 from last year

The information from the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia will not be available for a few more weeks.
