St. Peter’s Pancake Breakfast Kicks Off Catholic Schools Week

Catholic schools around the City of Quincy will be participating in “Catholic Schools Week” beginning this weekend with Masses and will conclude on February 2nd with the QCES Foundation Dinner honoring the 2018 “Friend of Catholic Education Award.”

St. Peter's School, at 2500 Maine in Quincy, will be kicking off Catholic Schools Week this Sunday with Masses and their 8^th annual Pancake and Sausage Breakfast that is a little more unique than others. The breakfast will be held in the school gym and starts at 8:30 a.m. and will conclude at 12:30 p.m.

Chris Cakes, a company out of St. Louis, will provide the pancakes, sausage and entertainment for the event. According to breakfast coordinator Amanda Monteyne, the unique part is that the pancakes are actually “flipped” onto plates or even across the room when attendees would like more to eat which adds an element of fun to the event.

The cost of the breakfast is $5 per plate – all you can eat.  There is no charge for children 2 years and under.  County Market, Kohl Wholesale, Prairie Farms and Refreshment Services Pepsi are this year’s event sponsors.

Students and Faculty at St. Peter School will also be participating in a series of events during the week to promote Catholic education. Catholic Schools Week concludes on Saturday, February 2nd with the 11th Annual “Friend of Catholic Education Award” with Jim Waterkotte being this  year’s recipient.  Revenue from the dinner is designated for the QCES Foundation’s Tuition-Assistance Fund for students enrolled in one of Quincy’s four Catholic elementary schools.
