
167 in Illinois Just Learned They’ll Suddenly Be Jobless in July
The last thing you want to hear is that your job will soon be gone. 167 workers in Illinois just learned that they will suddenly be jobless starting in July and it's even worse that they learned it right before a holiday weekend.
A new entry on the Illinois Work Net Center site shows a WARN notice from a company in St. Charles, Illinois. It says that Ametek Bison Gear & Engineering, Inc. located at 3850 Ohio Avenue in St. Charles, Illinois will be laying off 167 workers effective July 21, 2025.
The reason given is a "Plant Closure" according to the WARN notice on the Illinois Work Net Center site.

This new mass layoff in St. Charles, Illinois brings the total laid off in the state in the past 30 days to 1,149 and a total of 5, 519 in the past 90 days. More than 16,000 have lost their jobs in Illinois in the past 12 months. There's no confirmation as of this writing if these layoffs are temporary or permanent.
