It sounds too outrageous to be true and perhaps it is, but don't totally discount the tales being told about a spider web the size of a human being found in Missouri. There are many people who swear it's true.

For some reason, I had multiple videos today show up in my YouTube feed showing the same thing. Reports of a mammoth spider web being found in the woods of Missouri.

I have been able to trace this photo back to one shared by the Missouri Department of Conservation which was shared in October of 2020. They confirmed the photo above is actually that of an orb weaver which is a large yet harmless spider.

I don't know if you remember this, but Snopes dealt with reports of giant mutant spiders in Missouri years ago. They, of course, debunked it because that's what that site does. However, there are some credible reports from Missouri fisherman who claim they've encountered large arachnids near the Meramec River. I was always told by my dad that when you see enough smoke, there is likely a fire nearby. That's why I don't totally discount the stories of unnaturally large spiders in Missouri.

There is at least one giant spider in Missouri that I'm aware of and that's the one who a movie called "Don't Move" is based on that begins filming in the state in October.
