Sheriff Candidates Meet Tonight in League of Women Voters Forum
One of the key elections coming up in Adams County will be the race for Adams County Sheriff. Democratic Sheriff Brian Vonderhaar and Republican candidate challenger Jon McCoy will square off tonight in a Candidates Forum presented by The League of Women Voters. The forum will be held at the First Christian Church at 1415 Maine Street in Quincy beginning at 7 p.m. tonight and the public is invited to attend.Questions will be presented to the two candidates from three panelists, the audience and The League of Women Voters.
VonderHaar was appointed as Sheriff by the County Board after Brent Fischer resigned earlier this year to accept a position as the Director of State Training Board. McCoy is a former Adams County Chief Deputy.
