See Which Area Stores Have the Potential of Closing in 2018

Big Box stores were closing left and right nationwide in 2017 (Sears, KMart, JC Penney, etc.) and according to at least one report, it looks like 2018 is going to be even worse.

According to an article on USATODAY, more big chain stores are planning to close in 2018. With more online shopping and front door delivery, many customers are choosing that form of shopping nowadays.

So what stores in our area have a target on their backs according to the USA Today list?

1. Sears
2. J.C. Penney
3. Claire's
4. Bon-Ton Stores (including Bergner's)
5. Payless
6. GNC

We will have to wait and see if their predictions end up coming true, and if so, if any of our area stores will be affected. I am sad to see any store close, but with easy access to shopping online this could be the beginning of the end for most big box stores.
