I am fortunate to have really great neighbors near where I live in Missouri. Not everyone can say that and this is a great example. Did you know that Missouri's safest city has a really big problem child not that far away? It's true and I'll prove it.

This topic came up again after Safewise just dropped a short video counting down the 5 safest cities in Missouri.

#1 is Cottleville, Missouri which is well-deserved based on their extremely low crime rate. Area Vibes has lots of resident reviews saying it has great parks.

So what's the problem with Cottleville, Missouri if it's so safe?

Innocent little Cottleville, Missouri is only 38 miles from the 'murder capital' of America. Behold it's neighbor, none other than metro area of St. Louis, Missouri.

Don't get me wrong. It's true that Cottleville is a gentle place where you're more likely to see people riding down the street toward the country club on a golf cart, but don't you think that the criminals citizens of metro St. Louis knows there's nice stuff there?

I've said before and I'll say again that I think most of the St. Louis area gets a bad rap for just some small pockets of dangerous places, but I also think the "safest" city being so close to danger is more than a little ironic. Won't you be my neighbor?
