Quincy Is Home To The Oldest Licensed Daycare in The State

Quincy is know for its rich history with the Lincoln-Douglas Debates, the architecture, and festivals. Did you know that Quincy is also home to the oldest licensed daycare in the state of Illinois?

Cheerful Home Child Care was founded in 1886, and has been caring for children ever since. I have had the honor of having my kids attend Cheerful Home since 2011, and I am grateful for our time there. We only have a few weeks left (with my youngest is starting school this fall) and I can't tell you how thankful I am to all the teachers and staff who took care of my girls and taught them how fun learning can be.

I am sure there are plenty of people who either know someone who attended Cheerful Home, or attended it themselves. My father-in-law even went there when he was a child. For over 130 years, Cheerful Home has provided a fun and safe community for children in Quincy, and they continue to do so to this day.

Since 1935, they have been at their current location (315 South 5th), which holds two  gymnasiums, plenty of classrooms, and tons of fun for all ages. To find out more on the history of Cheerful Home find them on Facebook.
