The Annual Quincy Society of Fine Arts/ City of Quincy Arts Awards Luncheon was hosted by the Quincy Exchange Club today at the Stoney Creek Inn. David Boster, the Q.S.F.A. President, took the opportunity to discuss the international and national search that took place for a new Executive Director.  After an extensive search they realized the best person for the job was right under their nose in Lenny Bart.

Bart was introduced and then took the time to share some statistics which included the following.  49% of Americans attended some sort of visual arts event last year. 25% attended some sort of outdoor arts event and 50% of Americans either created or shared someone’s art last year.

Mayor Kyle Moore had the honors of announcing the winners of the various awards. Prior to the announcement, Mayor Moore shared that every dollar spent on the arts translates to 3 or 4 dollars to the city.
