Party City Closing 22 Stores, 3 in Missouri and Illinois

The challenge of being a brick and mortar retail store in 2023 continues as there are now reports that Party City will be closing 22 stores including 3 locations in Missouri and Illinois.

Business Insider broke the news of what follows the bankruptcy declared by Party City recently. Part of the companies restructuring means store closings, too. A grand total of 22 Party City locations will be no more including these Missouri and Illinois places:

Bradley Commons, 2060 N State Rte. 50, Bradley, Illinois

Missouri Party City Closings

East Hills Shopping Center, 3702 Frederick Ave., Ste. L12, St. Joseph, Missouri

Belton Gateway, 541 East Markey Pkwy., Belton, Missouri

The report from Business Insider indicates that these may not be the only Missouri and Illinois store closings for Party City as more may follow at a later date.

This news follows the recent report of Best Buy closing 17 retail stores including locations in Missouri and Illinois. The challenge of these brick and mortar businesses competing in an online world will not lessen.
