Say what you want about Cuba, Missouri, but the pace of life is a slow one there and I appreciate that. They were just featured by Only In Your State as one of the most peaceful places in America and I don't think they're wrong.
According to Wikipedia, Cuba, Missouri also has its share of history. They say that Bette Davis and Amelia Earhart have walked the streets there. Why? Because it's so peaceful there, right?
The fact that Cuba, Missouri is near the famous Route 66 doesn't hurt either.

There's an aspect of Cuba, Missouri that's hard to describe unless you visit there. I can only describe it as a "quietness" that is hard to capture without being present.
Cuba, Missouri was first born back in 1857. While the population has increased some, the flavor of the town and area really hasn't changed that much. Is it really one of the most peaceful in America? That's a subjective opinion. As for me, I can attest that Cuba is one of the many small towns in Missouri that make this part of America unlike any other - and that's a good thing.
