The silence is deafening. Questions about weird lights being spotted over Missouri tend to gravitate to two possible answers - drones or UFO's. If the government knows the answer, they're not saying much.

There have been multiple reports of strange sightings over Missouri just over the past few days. The two most prominent happened when homesteaders just across the border from southern Missouri captured videos of what they thought were drones as they could hear a "hum".

The same day, there were more sightings of strange lights over the Lake of the Ozarks area in Missouri.

Now, there's a new twist to this strange lights mystery as The Daily Mail is reporting that a Chinese man was arrested for allegedly flying a drone over an Air Force base in California. Plus, there are huge drones being spotted over New Jersey and weird lights seen traveling at high rates of speed over Oregon.

What does the government say these lights are?

The Department of Homeland Security isn't saying much. They revealed they do not believe the drones (if that's what they are) are being flown by hobbyists. They add that the objects "appear to avoid detection by traditional methods such as helicopter and radio". Officials are claiming the objects don't appear to be a threat to public safety and they don't believe it's an action by a foreign government.

Why won't the Air Force shoot these object downs?

Here's where it gets stranger. The Department of Homeland Security in front of Congress said that the military doesn't believe all of the sightings are drones. Part of the testimony said they "have no clue" about what these objects are which makes trying to shoot them down problematic.

If you see more strange objects/lights over Missouri, the Department of Homeland Security claims they want to see any photos or videos you have.

This mystery deepens the longer we go without any authorities being able to determine exactly what many of us are seeing.
