
Missouri Just Confirmed 5 More Mountain Lion Sightings
There are a flurry of new mountain lion sightings that have just been confirmed by authorities in Missouri including several in November, December and even into 2026.
I was stunned to see an update that apparently was just released today by the Missouri Department of Conservation. Their site documenting confirmed mountain lion sightings in Missouri just grew by 5 since it was last updated in October of 2025. Here are the 5 most recent sightings of these big cats just added:
Sunday, Nov 23, 2025 - Osage County - Photos of mountain lion taken by game camera. LCRT confirmed using photos and other sign.
Wednesday, Dec 3, 2025 - Crawford County - Video of mountain lion taken by game camera. LCRT confirmed using video and other sign.
Friday, Dec 19, 2025 - St. Louis County - Photos of mountain lion taken by game camera. LCRT confirmed using photos and other sign.
Saturday, Dec 27, 2025 - Jefferson County - Photos of mountain lion taken by game camera. LCRT confirmed using photos and other sign.
Friday, Jan 2, 2026 - Andrew County - Mountain lion struck in vehicle collision. Photo and video evidence and carcass obtained by MDC protection unit and confirmed by LCRT via necropsy. Genetic information shipped for analysis.
According to the Missouri Department of Conservation site, 1 of these mountain lion sightings was confirmed in December while the other 4 were confirmed in January of 2026, but their website was just updated today. That brings the current total number of confirmed mountain lion sightings in Missouri to 133 dating back to 1994.
