It's been beautiful in Missouri this week and it just seems to be getting better. It pains me to say this, but you need to reel in your expectations right now because this fake Spring we're experiencing isn't really real and it isn't sticking around. It might even be a trap.

Here's the map from the Climate Prediction Center that I've seen passed around by many overly-optimistic Missouri Spring lovers. It shows that Missouri is, in fact, experiencing above average temperatures right now.

It's after the first week of February when potential trouble is on the horizon

I don't want to get into specific storms that some computer models show impacting Missouri on or after February 7, 2025, but here are two different computer ensembles that show most of Missouri getting a rather significant amount of snow again by the middle of February. This is the European model snow totals showing Missouri getting decent amounts.

The GFS model more or less agrees with the European.

I would love nothing more than if the warm weather Missouri will be experiencing for the next week to stick around, but I also don't all the nice weather lovers to be disappointed. It does not appear that winter is done with Missouri yet. Maybe we'll get a break by the end of February or maybe not. Just don't be shocked when arctic air chills us again in a couple weeks and some snow chances return with it.
