337 Being Let Go from Missouri Warehouse after Contract Loss
It's been a busy day on the job front in Missouri and unfortunately not in a good way. The state of Missouri has been informed by a major logistics employer that 337 workers were being let go from the warehouse they have been serving due to an imminent contract loss.
I've lost track of exactly how many WARN notices I've seen shared to the Missouri Jobs site over the past few weeks so I took the time to count. A total of 23 WARN notices have been submitted to the state of Missouri since the start of 2025. The newest is from Penske Logistics LLC who are letting 337 workers go on July 15, 2025.
Here are the exact words sent to Missouri authorities about what's going on directly from the WARN notice from Penske:
"Penske has performed warehousing services for Schnucks’s at the facility located at 8500 Scudder Avenue, Kinloch, MO 63140. Effective July 15, 2025, operation of the facility will be transitioned to the new logistics provider."
BGDC Distribution will be the new provider to this warehouse according to the notice. It appears that Penske is working with BGDC Distribution on a transition plan where many of the displaced workers may have opportunities with the new provider, but that's uncertain as of the date of this writing.
Let's hope that all of the affected workers land on their feet and end up with new opportunities soon.
