Nearly 300 Illinois & Missouri Truck Drivers are Now Out of a Job
A trucking company has had to suddenly close its doors and the result is that nearly 300 truck drivers in Missouri and Illinois are now looking for work.
I have lost count of how many family members and friends either have been or are truck drivers. That's why I was alarmed when I saw CDL Life share the news of a trucking company in the St. Louis, Missouri area having to shut down. It's LTI Trucking Services in Madison, Illinois. They are shutting down permanently.
Freight Waves confirmed this news saying more than 250 drivers were now out of work, but a message shared on the Trucker Feed Facebook group indicates it's closer to 300.
The good news, according to CDL Life, is that the company is working with their drivers to make sure they are not left by the roadside. If a driver wants to get home, they will work to make that happen.
The Street is reporting that LTI Trucking Services has not filed for bankruptcy as of this date. They go on to report that LTI Trucking Services has 300 trucks and 575 trailers. Let's hope all of these drivers find their way home safely and end up in a better job situation soon. This nation suffers when over-the-road truckers do.
