We don't know a lot of facts at this point, but it does appear the Missouri Department of Conservation is at least confirming that a hunter in the state did kill a mountain lion this past weekend.

This jolting update was just shared by the Missouri Department of Conservation on their Facebook page this afternoon.

In case you can't see the Missouri Department of Conservation update on your device, here's how it appeared earlier Monday.

Based on that update, we know it happened in Iron County, Missouri, but no other details are known at this time including if the hunter was acting out of self-defense.

As this is a developing story, it will be updated once the Missouri Department of Conservation investigators find out what happened between this hunter and big cat.
