Huge Missouri Healthcare Service Just Posted a Mass Layoff of 280
This year has been challenging for many different types of services and healthcare is no exception. The state of Missouri has just been notified that a huge healthcare service in the state will be laying off 280 at the end of May.
A new WARN notice was posted on the Missouri Jobs site this morning. The US Department of Labor says these notices are required "to provide workers, their families, and communities with advance notice of plant closings or mass layoffs". This new Missouri alert comes from Spectrum Healthcare Resources in St. Louis, Missouri. They will be laying off 280 on May 29, 2025 due to what they describe as a "loss of contract".
The official Spectrum Healthcare Resources website says they provide "quality care to active duty military, veterans, government employees, and their families". It says they have placed over 30,000 healthcare professionals over the last 35 years.
This is the St. Louis location on Olive Boulevard.
Spectrum News reported a few days ago that mass layoffs had started at United States public health agencies after cuts. At this point, there's no confirmation that the mass layoffs at this Missouri healthcare placement agency is connected to those government cuts.
This new mass layoff brings the total layoffs in Missouri for 2025 to 2,059 so far according to Missouri Jobs.
