Missouri Bowhunter Shares Video of Black Bear Near His Tree
There's nothing quite like being in the backwoods of Missouri during hunting season. That's even more true when you realize that you're not the only hunter in the woods which is what happened recently to a Missouri bowhunter.
I saw this new video shared just 2 days ago by 4 Fletch Outdoors. It's a very short video and no specific location is given, but based on the hashtags, we know it's a bowhunter in Missouri and it just happened.
It would appear that this bear wanted nothing to do with the hunter once he became aware that he was near which is a good thing. I've seen other bear encounters where a hunter in a tree gets joined by a curious bear wanting to know what's going on just like this big boy did.
While movies portray bears as aggressive predators, most will avoid human contact. A vast majority of the time a bear will not attack unless the animal feels like it's cornered or a mama bear trying to protect young ones. Bears in Missouri are mostly herbivores that feed on berries and plants and rarely will go after humans.
Perhaps this black bear knew that bear hunting season in Missouri ended back in October. All's well that ends well.
