Drone Delivery from Amazon Coming to Missouri
The way you shop in Missouri is about to get a revolutionary change. If you thought ordering online and being able to go to a drive-through to pick it up was advanced, you may be interested to know that drone delivery from Amazon is coming soon to Missouri.
There's a new story just shared by Wired about how Walmart "goes big with drone delivery". It says that Walmart just announced today (Thursday, June 5) that they were expanding their new drone delivery service to 100 more stores. Missouri was not in that initial list, but I noticed a juicy detail near the end of their announcement and it has nothing to do with Walmart. Here is the exact statement:
"Amazon is still operating drone delivery...with launches in San Antonio and Richardson, Texas, and Kansas City, Missouri forthcoming"
This has been confirmed by KSHB 41 in Kansas City that is reporting that Amazon plans not one, but two drone delivery centers in KC. The Kansas City Star also reported that Amazon is planning drone deliveries, but had not provided an official start date.
What will drone delivery from Amazon mean to Missouri residents?
For many products, you'll be able to get same-day Prime delivery, but this new technology comes with concerns. Some of the delay in having this service deployed is due to drone crashes during deliveries.
With Amazon confirmed to be seeking multiple drone delivery centers in Kansas City, it's only a matter of time before this new way to shop becomes a daily reality in Missouri.
