Due to major mechanical issues, Indian Mounds Pool will not be opening as expected for the Memorial Day Holiday weekend. When starting up the system, a major leak occurred that caused the pool to drain rapidly. There is possibly a pipe or valve that broke in the valve pit, causing it to fill with water. In order to pinpoint the issue, the pit must be drained first which requires emptying the pool.

Staff and plumbers are investigating the issue to determine the cause and begin the repair process. Depending on the parts needed and the work that needs done, the staff estimates the earliest the pool could open will be next weekend.

The facility as a whole is prepped, cleaned and was ready to open this past Saturday except for the mechanical issue experienced.  The Quincy Park District will open Indian Mounds Pool as soon as possible once repairs are completed and water is in the pool and safe for the public to enter.
