Some 1,230 pounds of food was distributed Saturday during the Madonna House Mobile Food Pantry held in Quincy.

The food bank, which served 555 individuals and 155 households was made possible by the Central Illinois Food Bank, ADM, Blessing Hospital, Hy-Vee on Harrison and Scotties Potties.

Some 37 people volunteered for the event on the Blessing Hospital parking lot which also saw assistance from the Blessing Hospital Security Department as well as the Quincy Police Department

The Madonna House Food Pantry is located at 601 State Street in Quincy, serving on average 1,000 individual per month. The food pantry is open from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. every Tuesday and 10 a.m. to 12 noon every Saturday.
