Kansas City is known for having many things. The Chiefs, Royals and tons of BBQ are among them. But, there's one thing that this Missouri place has more of than any other city in the world and it isn't BBQ.

This is one of those strange factoids that you'll rarely hear a chamber of commerce brag about. I've lived in Missouri most of my life and I had never heard this about Kansas City until now.

It's a strange little fact that I saw shared by Movoto that shows why Kansas City is such a unique place.

What is the one thing Kansas City, Missouri has more of than any other place in the world?

Answer - Kansas City has more boulevards than any other city not just in Missouri, but the entire world. But, why? Going way back in history, they claim that Kansas City aspired to be the "Paris of the Plains" and designers in the city knew Paris had tons of boulevards. Not to be outdone, Kansas City began naming streets boulevards and never stopped.

How many boulevards does Kansas City have?

According to Kansas City Parks and Rec, the city has 135 miles of boulevards. They even mention Paris when they say "The George Kessler-designed system balances the need to move traffic while maintaining our reputation as the “Paris of the Plains”.

Is it just me or does it seem like Kansas City has a strange obsession with the French? Hey, I'm not judging. To each his/her own.
