I would say that when I read the description for this sandwich only found in Missouri my initial thought was...yup it is weird.

However, as they say, don't judge a book by its cover, well don't judge food if you haven't tasted it yet. Love Food gathered a list of the weirdest food in each state and named the St. Paul Sandwich as the weirdest for Missouri.

To make it, a savory egg foo young patty is sandwiched between two slices of white bread along with plenty of dill pickle slices, onions, lettuce, and mayo.

It doesn't sound tasty, but the St. Paul Sandwich has also been named the iconic sandwich in Missouri. Now, to figure out where this iconic, weird sandwich came from is still up in the air and kind of a mystery, but some say it could date back to the 1940s.

One story goes that it was created in the 1940s by Steven Yuen of Park Chop Suey in St. Louis, and it proved the perfect way to increase his restaurant’s appeal to Midwestern American palates.

If you're a foodie you're probably going to want to put this iconic sandwich on your food bucket list. For me, I may try it one day or if someone orders it, I may have a bit but I am not a "try something new" girl so I am judging food before I eat it.
