In honor of an injured Illinois trooper who was injured in a crash, law enforcement just carried out an operation that netted 31 felony charges.

A press released just shared by the Illinois State Police Public Information Office detailed a crime sweep just carried out in honor of Trooper Brian Frank, who served as a member of the Illinois State Police Highway Interdiction Team before being severely injured in a crash in 2021. Fortunately, he survived. They executed an interdiction and crime suppression detail from November 17 through November 25 in the northern part of the state. This operation resulted in the following:

  • Arrests 17
  • Felony Charges 31
  • Criminal Charges 38
  • Firearm Related Charges 9
  • Firearms Seized 4
  • Cannabis Seized (pounds) 154
  • Stolen Vehicles Recovered 5
  • Motor Carrier Safety Inspections 116

This massive law enforcement crackdown was the result of numerous agencies including the Illinois State Police SOG Officers from Statewide Anti-Violence Enforcement North, HIT, and Fatal 4 teams with assistance from Illinois State Police patrol Troops 1, 2, 3, and 5, Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 1, Air Operations, Quad City Metropolitan Enforcement Group, and the Metropolitan Enforcement Group of Southwestern Illinois.
