Huge Mountain Lion Struck by Vehicle in Franklin County, Missouri
If you doubt the presence of mountain lions in Missouri, here's another example. A big cat was hit by a vehicle in Franklin County, but was able to make its way into the woods.
Thank you to Tiffany Mitchell Door for kindly allowing us to share the picture she shared with the Missouri Department of Conservation. This huge animal was hit by a vehicle on Highway T and Old Highway 100 in Franklin County, Missouri Monday night.
According to the last update from the Missouri Department of Conservation, this mountain lion has not been located yet.
You might recall a few weeks ago we shared that a mountain lion was spotted near Columbia, Missouri in Boone County. While the Missouri Department of Conservation considers mountain lion sightings rare in the Show Me State, their sightings map show that perhaps it's not as rare as it used to be.
Thanks again to Tiffany Mitchell Door for allowing us to share her pic and her story. She now joins the ever-growing list of Missourians who have seen a mountain lion up close. Let's hope the Missouri Department of Conservation is able to find this big cat if it needs medical attention.
