10 Wildlife Encounters Missouri Residents Report Most Each Summer

There are a few things in Missouri that are a certainty. You can count on the weather being wildly unpredictable, our rivers will do whatever they want and you're guaranteed to have at least a zillion encounters with all types of wildlife. There are 10 that are the most common in the state.

If you look at data from the Missouri Department of Conservation, you know there are multitudes of species of wildlife that make a habitat in our state. Here are the 10 most common some of which can be a bit dangerous.

I was looking at that list and I can say that I've often had contact with at least 8 of those 10 most common wildlife species. I have yet to encounter a black bear, but that's probably only a matter of time considering how fast their population is increasing. I also have yet to come across an armadillo, but I've heard countless stories from others about how they see these little armored tanks around Missouri all the time. But, what about mountain lions you ask? Don't even get me started on the big cats.
