Another Hannibal Fourth of July weekend tradition is on for 2020.

Hannibal Regional Healthcare officials announced Monday the annual Hannibal Cannibal race will take place on Saturday, July 4th, during National Tom Sawyer Days.

Officials say the safety of the runners is their top priority, and there will be changes in this year’s race that will offer a safe, healthy way to celebrate the 4th.

Among the changes for the 2020 Cannibal – there will be a rolling start from 6 to 7 a.m., social distancing will be observed for packet pickup, there will be no stage, band, awards ceremony or results station, and the Fun Run for the youngsters is cancelled for this year.
