Golden Gate Jumper Shares His Message of Hope in Hannibal

Not many people take a suicide plunge off the Golden Gate Bridge and live to tell about it.  It takes four seconds from the jump to impact.  In that moment, survivor Kevin Hines said his only thought was, "What have I just done? I don't want to die. God please save me."  God did.  And now Hines is coming to Hannibal to share his message of survival and most importantly, of hope.

On Monday, Oct. 28, Hines will speak out about suicide awareness at Hannibal LaGrange University.  The event is open to the public from 9 a.m. until noon.  The rest of that afternoon is open to professionals only.  That night, Hines offers another free presentation from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

After his desperate prayer, Hines smashed into that concrete wall of water.  He was severely injured, but he survived and is fully healed today.  He credits God, and amazingly he also owes his life to a sea lion, who he says held him above water until the Coast Guard arrived.
