According to USA Today, General Mills announced in a filing to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission that they would be closing 3 Missouri facilities. Those include 2 factories in Joplin, Missouri and another facility in St. Charles, Missouri. Here are the exact words from the General Mills filing with the USSEC:

"On September 25, 2025, General Mills, Inc. approved a multi-year organizational initiative to increase the competitiveness of our supply chain. To consolidate capacity, improve our cost structure, and support this initiative, we approved (i) the closure of our North America Foodservice pizza crust manufacturing facility in St. Charles, Missouri, (ii) the closure of two of our North America Pet manufacturing facilities in Joplin, Missouri that we acquired in the Whitebridge Pet Brands acquisition"

The timing of these closures is unclear as of the date of this writing as the filing with the feds say these measures will be completed by the end of fiscal year 2029. The Missouri Jobs site does not currently list any layoffs as a part of this newly-revealed General Mills plan, so let's hope this is something in the distant future and not immediately. This article will be updated if more exact closure dates of these 3 Missouri facilities is shared.
