Elizabeth Stanley of Camp Point, IL is the star of a new show on Broadway!

There is a new musical on Broadway in New York called "Jagged Little Pill" based based off the album from Alanis Morissette. The show stars Camp Point's own Elizabeth Stanley, who has been in many Broadway productions like Company, Cry Baby, and more all according to Broadway.com. In a recent interview about the new show opening Elizabeth said to Broadway.com...

"My dad worked for the Rural Electric Corporation," Stanley said about growing up in Camp Point, Illinois. "[We lived] three hours from St. Louis. No one was auditioning for Broadway. No one was becoming a YouTube star. My high school didn’t have a [theater] program because it was so small."

It's so cool to see someone who grew up in the Tri-States having such success on the worlds largest stage for actors. It just goes to show you that if you work really hard, and have a passion for something that it can be achieved no matter what your background is or where you come from. Make sure you go out and support the local artists in your communities whether it is a high school level or at Quincy Community Theatre you never know when you'll be seeing the next Elizabeth Stanley!
