Drunkest City in Illinois? This One Really Needs an Intervention
Full disclosure: I don't drink and never have. Well, I did once and the stories that resulted are legendary, but that's a story for a different day. My point is I'm not an alcohol expert, but I found a site that is and they just named the drunkest city in Illinois.
I almost always enjoy the snarky ramblings of Roadsnacks. They aren't afraid to tackle tough issues that would be embarrassing for others. They recently ranked the drunkest cities in Illinois based on the following criteria:
- Number of bars and pubs per capita
- Number of wineries per capita
- Number of liquor stores per capita
- Each city’s drunk related tweets within the last week
- Each city’s divorce rate
With those things factored in, what is Illinois' drunkest city?
Answer - Loves Park, Illinois
It's a bit ironic that the official Loves Park, Illinois website says they are a "flourishing residential, commercial, and industrial community in Northern Illinois". Perhaps they could add "while some have a desperate clutch on a bottle"?
Roadsnacks says Loves Park is mid-pack for the number of bars and liquor stores, but their divorce rate is allegedly sky-high. Is it time for the friends of Loves Park, Illinois to stage an intervention? I'm just asking the question.
It does look like a nice place though.
