Down By The River Concert Series Returns
Shall we gather at the river? You betcha! The first Down By the River concert series kicks off this Friday in Hannibal.
The Eric McKay Band will rock the Y Men's Pavilion in downtown Hannibal on Friday, June 19. The gates open at 5 p.m. and close at 10 p.m.
The Y Men's Club had to cancel the first event in May because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Like all groups that have scheduled events in 2020, the Y Men's Club members struggled with the decision over hosting the summer season, but decided to go ahead with some precautions in place.
The group also puts on the Mud Volleyball Tournament over the July 4th holiday in conjunction with National Tom Sawyer Days. Members decided to go ahead with that event as well and registration took off with available slots filling in record time. Eighty-four junior and adult teams will compete in the full bracket. Judging by the response to mud volleyball, organizers are predicting a big crowd at DBTR events this summer.
The July 17th DBTR features Steve Paquet and the Heavy Implants. Mad Hoss Jackson performs on August 21.
