Speech Experts Really Don’t Like How You’re Saying ‘Illinois’

There are rebels in our midst that are saying what should be an obvious word incorrectly. It's such a problem that the speech experts have issued a warning to everyone that has managed to say "Illinois" incorrectly.

I'm a live and let live kind of person. If you want to say names wrong, that's your business. Frankly, part of my entertainment is from listening to those around me utter sounds that are completely inappropriate. This is a perfect example.

Ashley is allegedly a speech expert and helps people learn English. Last time my radio show was critiqued, I was told I should give that a try, but that's a story for a different day. Today, Ashley, the speech expert, would like to have a few seconds of your time to deal with how some people say "Illinois".

For the love of everything good and holy, who is saying the "S" in Illinois out loud? Please come forward for your lashing.

I thought this was an isolated incident of some person from Indonesia who's never heard American spoken that said the "S" in Illinois, but according to a conversation on Quora, it's a major problem.

Since I've been accused of being a rebel, I now plan to add two "S's" to the end of every pronunciation of Illinois just to make this a bigger problem than it already is. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
