Once again the Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce is offering a new "Business Plan Grant Program" with the eventual winner getting $10-thousand to assist with their business start-up. The start-up business must be a new or existing business in Adams County.  Something new this year is that all candidates must meet with mentors. To do so, candidates must call the Chamber office at 222-7980 and ask for Alta or Latonya to be paired with a mentor for their field.

The deadline for first draft of their business plan is June 14 with the final draft due August 1.

To aid with the development of your business plan, a “Business Plan Basics Workshop” has been scheduled for Monday, May 20, from 12 noon to 1:30 at the Oakley-Lindsay Center. The workshop will feature Diana Blue, a program coordinator of the Illinois Small Business development Center, and it is highly recommended for anyone applying for the grant to attend.  The cost is $10 per person. Please contact the Chamber to make a reservation for the workshop as lunch will also be provided.
